Colour Vision Accessibility

Colour blindness affects millions worldwide. Easy on Eyes and Bold & Clear are specifically designed to be distinguishable for people with colour vision deficiency (CVD).

What is Colour Vision Deficiency?

Colour vision deficiency (CVD), commonly called "colourblindness," is a hereditary condition affecting colour perception. It's not darkness — people with CVD see colours differently, not less.

  • Protanopia (Red-Blind): ~1% of males. Difficulty distinguishing reds from greens. Reds appear darker.
  • Deuteranopia (Green-Blind): ~1% of males. Similar to protanopia but through a different mechanism.
  • Tritanopia (Blue-Yellow Blind): ~0.01% of all people. Difficulty distinguishing blues from yellows.

Both Easy on Eyes and Bold & Clear have been tested using colour blindness simulators (Coblis) and contrast checkers (WebAIM) to ensure maximum readability for all users.

How to Choose Your Theme

Theme selection is personal. Here's how to pick:

Aesthetic Appeal
Pick the colours that make you happy to look at, day after day.
Visual Comfort

Why Theme Diversity Matters

At Pixie Journey, we believe your tracking app should match your vision—literally and figuratively.

"One colour palette doesn't fit everyone. Not because of preference, but because vision is neurological. We're committed to accessibility from design, not as an afterthought."

That's why every theme has been tested for:

  • Contrast ratios — WCAG AAA standards
  • Colour blindness simulation — Coblis CVD simulators
  • Readability — Real user testing
  • Aesthetic appeal — Because tracking should feel good, not clinical
